About the Workshops:

In this series of art workshops, students are inspired by art history and principles of design.

The goal of the workshop series is for students to gain confidence in their individual creativity and creative thinking across a variety of subject matter.  Students are presented with a few limitations in art mediums and design concepts. Students are guided and encouraged throughout the art making process as they pursue their inspired ideas. Students will work and learn technical skills in a variety of mediums – pencil, watercolor, tempera, oil pastels, color pencil and mixed media. All supplies are included. No prior art technical skills or knowledge needed.

About the Instructor:
Katie has been studying and practicing visual arts in many different mediums for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Art History and Minor in Ceramics.  She has a MA from New York University in Archival Management and studied metalsmithing at one of the oldest jewelry schools in the country.  Her art has been featured in Vogue Magazine and Barneys New York. 

She’s worked in elementary education on Oahu, specifically in visual arts for 4 years. Her passion lies in empowering students to pursue creativity, mindfulness and meaningful connections in all areas of life.
